I was inspired

Man, it’s been awhile since I last updated this.

It was months ago that I went to one of my favorite cities in the world, NYC! I had the time of my life there. It was phenomenal, which is probably why I want to go live there after graduation. Well, actually I’ve wanted to live in New York ever since I first went there in 10th grade. The fast pace, upbeatness of it all just made me fall in love with the city. It’s hard to describe the allure the city has over me. It calls my name, and I feel like that’s where I belong…under her shining lights and walking down her busy streets. I can’t help but to sound corny when I say, “the lights did inspire me.” 🙂 When I got back home, my mission was clear: Get back to New York as soon as I can. lol I still haven’t accomplished the mission, but I’m on my way to making it happen.

I’m currently finishing up my last semester of undergrad in Advertising at The University of Georgia, and applying for jobs and internships in New York City. The semester is going well, and is off to a fabulous start. Here’s to hoping it continues to get better!

Times Square

Well I’m not actually in New York yet, but I will be there in less than 2 days! I am going to NYC with UGA’s Advertising Club to tour different advertising agencies! I’m so excited to not only tour the city and take in a show or two, but to gain insight into agency life in New York City because this is the city I want to live and work in after I graduate.

Too long

It’s been too long since I updated this, however, there isn’t much to update  you on.

I finished working on a semester long project that was pretty intense. I had to create 2 brands. One had to be bricks and mortar and the other was a packaged good. With each, I had to write a brand mantra and brand experience, and then I had to create 3 ads and 3 imc pieces for each. I also had to decide on a floor plan and interior design for the bricks and mortar one and a package design for my packaged good.

This was a challenging project, but I had a lot of fun creating a brand for scratch. Definitely a possible career path in the future!

I’ll post a .pdf of the project later. But until then, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes: “Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman
